Four Update Carriers

Where to record experience – determines the nature of the ability:

Knowledge base – facts and patterns: fast update, traceability;
Prompt and Skill – strategies expressed in natural language: explainability, but prone to bloat;
Programs and Harness – deterministic processes and hard constraints: testability, stability;
Model parameters – high-dimensional abilities (perception, style, implicit strategies): generalization, but expensive.

Carriers are combined: model tone – post-training, policies – knowledge and Skill, critical requirement compliance – server code.

The selection criterion is not the recency of experience, but the expressibility of the ability by the carrier.
