Memory Hierarchy

Memory is divided by storage location: trajectory – complete raw record of the current session (append-only, “daily record”); long-term user memory – persistent information between sessions (“archive”, rewritten multiple times); optionally – business process state. From the point of view of cognitive science, this is working memory and long-term memory (episodic – events, semantic – general knowledge, procedural – processes). Classifications of “where to store”, “how to store” and “what to store” are orthogonal.
