Harness Engineering

Harness – all the infrastructure around the model: context and tools plus three protective layers.

Agent = Model + Harness

Three protective layers:

constraints – what is not allowed;
validation – is it done correctly;
remediation – how to recover.

A model without a Harness is an untamed horse. The competitiveness of agent systems is determined not by the model, but by the Harness: the same model in different Harnesses gives drastically different results. The more powerful the model, the more important the Harness around it.
