Harness Engineering
Harness is all the infrastructure around the model: context and tools plus three protective layers – guardrails (what can’t be done), validation (is it done right), and correction (how to recover). Expanded formula: Agent = Model + Harness. A model without a Harness is a wild horse. The competitiveness of agent systems is determined not by the model, but by the Harness: the same model in different Harnesses gives drastically different results. The more powerful the model, the more important the Harness around it.
