Evolution of Engineering Paradigms

The arc of evolution: Prompt Engineering → Context Engineering → Harness Engineering → Loop Engineering → Graph Engineering. Each layer doesn’t replace the previous one, but includes it: prompts are a subset of context, context is a subset of Harness, and so on. The engineer’s attention broadens: from instruction text to all model information, then to all infrastructure, then to continuous autonomous operation across many iterations.
