Filesystem Paradigm for Knowledge
OpenViking maps all context (memory, resources, skills) into a directory and files of a virtual filesystem with URIs of the form viking://. Three levels of loading: L0 summary (~100 tokens), L1 overview (~2000 tokens), L2 full text – “summary always at hand, full text on demand”, as a progressive reveal of Skills. A mandatory condition: there must be links and indexing between files (like in Wikipedia) – otherwise the agent has nothing to rely on for navigation. Powerful models link records themselves; weaker ones need to be explicitly instructed in the record prompt.
